Designer handbags can be very expensive and many people are not willing to spend the money on these bags. Many buyers prefer to buy a really good knock-off at a lesser price, but not me. I like to buy the real thing. I love knowing that I own a designer bag that may one day become a collector’s item. I love knowing that I can pass down these bags to my daughters who can wear them just as elegantly. To my daughters these bags are thought of as “vintage” while I prefer to call them “timeless”. It does not matter to me whether people know I am wearing an authentic bag versus a knock-off, it only matters that I know. I love the feeling of luxury and knowing that I have a well made, quality handbag.
I am not the type of person who changes my handbags frequently. I wear the same handbag all season, only changing it for nights out or specific events. This is why I am comfortable investing in a high-end designer bag. I get use out of my bags and only purchase a new bag twice a year. For those that change their purses daily may not be able to justify spending hundreds of dollars on each purse. These types of people are about quantity not quality, while I love a good quality item and am a minimalist of sorts.
There is nothing better than the experience of walking into a store or shopping online for designer bags. It is important to me to know my purchases are authentic when the price point is that high. I am a sucker for luxury and there is something about designer bags that comforts me. Many of these bags are timeless and never become outdated.
I find that many people in my circle of friends buy a handful of really great designer bags but then buy some really great knockoffs of bags that they will wear less frequently or that are just a passing trend. I understand this approach because it can be a lot of money to dish out for an item that will only be worn minimally. I am not someone who follows trends, as my style tends to be classic and conservative. However, for younger women this is a great way to stay current with the trends without spending too much money.
These days a lot of the knock-off designer bags are very expensive. Which is why I think, why not just spend the extra couple dollars on the real thing? There is something exclusive and luxurious about owning the real thing.
